Majella National Park

Majella National Park expands all the way up the whole Abruzzo including its four provinces. Most of its territory is mountain type

The primary purpose of this institution is to safeguard and protect the biodiversity of the territory that have made Abruzzo one of the greenest places in Europe. The intrusive and destructive millenary action of man, had led to the complete destruction of the great wild herbivores from the area of the Majella and to the extreme rarefaction, in increasingly marginal areas, of the most valuable fauna of the Park

Today these places have returned to being the ideal place for the protection of deer, roe deer, wolves and famous Marsican brown bear thanks to both synergetic work of institutions and communities . Nowdays The Otter, the most exclusive animal in the Park, is steady established in the Orfento and Orta valley

It's not only the park of all this animal species but also the Park of the Hermitages, of the Abbeys, of the dry stone huts, of the wonderful historical villages that are part of it.

Il parco Nazionale della Majella è un luogo tutto da scoprire dove uomo e natura convivono da secoli a stretto contatto con il fine ultimo di tutelare il territorio che li accomuna.
